The No. 1 "Peanut Butter" coloration must be a modern-day collectors' color designation as it's nowhere to be found in any of the over 100 Shur Strike pieces of printed materials and hardware store/sporting goods store catalog pages I've seen. This coloration IS found in the 1933 Shur Strike 4-page b&w flyer listed as "No. 1 - Yellow Back, Scale Finish". Below is a picture of a specimen of this coloration and its original stamped box.
The "Yellow Scale" coloration must also be a modern-day collectors' color designation as I cannot find that coloration name printed in any the Shur Strike printed materials and hardware store/sporting goods store catalogs I've seen. This coloration IS also found in the 1933 Shur Strike 4-page b&w flyer listed as "No. 6 - Brown Back, Scale Finish" (certainly more black than brown). Just below is a picture of a specimen of this coloration and its original stamped box.
Keep in mind Creek Chub was notorious for being consistently inconsistent when it came to coloration names and number designations. That's why the "Yellow Scale" coloration can be found with several number designations throughout the life of Shur Strike (see the below #21-designation example).
These are my present findings. I don't want to claim to be right and end up being wrong, so comments and/or corrections are certainly welcomed.
