In low light conditions ie night time the sky is brightened by the moon when out and if not the new moon sky is brightened by stars. Black contrasts best standing out against a bright moon lighted night time sky. Take same black topwater and paint the belly white. This would blend in with nighttime sky making hard to see.
Never minding the color confidence in lure used is whats most important besides thinking like a fish. Thanks for the board Joe.
